| Military: | Arthur was attested on 7 February 1916. On 8 February 1916 he was posted to the Army Reserve. He was mobilised on 31 March 1916 and posted to the Royal Garrison Artillery depot, Gunner, 71332. On 4 December 1916 he he was posted to the British Expeditionary Force. He joined 155th Heavy Battery R.G.A. in the field on 13 December 1916. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission grave registration entry for Arthur was “FLATMAN, Gnr. A. S., 71332. 155th Heavy Bty. Royal Garson Artillery. 8th Feb., 1917.” |
